# How do I Place a bid?

## Before you can start bidding on bottles at Unicorn Auctions, you’ll need to be an approved buyer. This ensures a smooth and secure auction experience for all users.

### ✅ Buyer Approval Requirements

To be approved as a buyer, you must complete the following steps:

1. **Add a Payment Method**
   
     - Navigate to your **Account Settings**
     - Click on **Payment Methods**
     - Add a valid and active **credit or debit card**
2. **Verify Your Email**
   
     - Check your inbox for the verification email from Unicorn Auctions
     - Click the **confirmation link** in that email to verify your account

### 📌 Once Approved

Once both steps are completed:

- You’ll receive a confirmation that your account is **buyer-ready**
- You’ll be able to place bids on any active auctions
