What Happens If My Bottles Don’t Sell at Auction?

While most bottles at Unicorn Auctions do sell, there are rare cases where a bottle doesn’t receive bids or meet a reserve price. Here’s what happens next—and your options as a consignor.

❌ Why Didn’t My Bottle Sell?

There could be several reasons:

  • The starting price or reserve was too high

  • Limited demand for the bottle in this auction cycle

If your bottle doesn’t sell, don’t worry—you have options.

🔁 Option 1: Relist in a Future Auction

Most consignors choose to relist unsold bottles in a future auction at no additional cost.
You can work with our team to:

  • Adjust the starting bid or reserve price based on our reserve policy.
  • If a bottle does not sell, no fees will be incurred.

📩 To relist, reply to your post-auction email or contact:
consignment@unicornauctions.com

📦 Option 2: Retrieve Your Bottle

If you prefer not to relist, you can:

  • Pick up your bottle from our warehouse (by appointment)

  • Request return shipping (shipping fees apply)

Let us know your preference by contacting support and we’ll coordinate the return process.

📝 Important Notes

  • Unicorn Auctions does not charge additional fees for relisting

  • Return shipping costs will vary by bottle size, weight, and location

  • Bottles must be claimed within a reasonable timeframe after auction close
